Learning Life from Life – Purposeful Curriculum

Learning from Life

At Pathways, purposeful work plays an important role in helping our newly enrolled tamariki transition from home into kindergarten. With a loving and caring teacher working alongside the child, he/she finds comfort and satisfaction in the expected repetition of a daily routine. When the kaiako follows a set rhythm, the child can relax as he/she has no need to focus his/her energy on worrying about what will happen next, instead being peacefully carried along by the steady stream of the teacher’s activity.

Learning life from life through imitation – the epitome of Rudolf Steiner early childhood education.

The purpose of Rudolf Steiner education is to strengthen the child to meet not only the challenges of school, but those of life.”
