Storytelling at Pathways Kindergarten
Storytelling is at the heart of Steiner/Waldorf education. Stories engage children’s imaginations and strengthens their inner picturing capabilities – their ability to create a picture in their ‘mind’s eye’, an essential skill for creative thinking later in life.
We tell a story with figures/props/puppets daily as an important part of our kindergarten rhythm. The children are often found recreating these stories in their own play, or telling their own unique stories.
In these pictures some of our tamariki were recreating our advent story in their spontaneous play, adding their own creativity to the story as their imaginations come to life!
